Ajanta & Ellora Caves

Ellora.....

I can't remember where I took this photo. It was at one of the stops  I  made after the Ellora Caves.

Daulatabad Fort......

One of the MANY Black Faced Monkeys hanging around.

The road to the fort....

On the way some ppl asked to take a photo of my friend and I,  I was the only white person there. While they were taking photos, my friend took a photo of them taking pictures of us.

Ajanta....

Ajanta caves are made up of almost 30 separate caves set into the side of the mountain. This is the view from Cave 1. Not all of the caves were accessible, I only entered about half of the caves.

Many of the caves had paintings inside....

Several of the caves had buddhas like this set inside.

Entrance to cave 19.

Elephanta Island

I took a ferry from Mumbai to Elephanta Island.....

In front of the largest cave on Elephanta Island

Inside the largest cave....

One of several monkeys that stole from us....this one if drinking my friend Omar's bottle of water.

Outside one of the smaller caves

This snack shop is halfway up the path to the view point on the top of the island.  I'm not sure if the guy getting the haircut is a customer, or if they both work here and just got bored.

View from the top of Elephanta Island

My new friend Omar from Iraq. Good guy to have around when monkeys are trolling. He saved my life!! Or at least saved me from having my bag stolen from a savage monkey.

So here it is, my attempt at blogging. I know that I should have began doing this when I began travelling, but.... better late than never. Enjoy!

Mumbai

This is my gorgeous friend Auro who has been so sweet as to welcome me into her home and show me around the city.

Golgappa - delicious street food

Bandra train station, Mumbai

Outside of Bandra station.....

Once on the train, I made friends with some school kids. They tried to teach me something in their dialect, and were happy to pose for pictures. Between them jumping and the train bumping, none of the pictures turned out very well.

As they were getting off the train, they wanted me to take more pictures but I took a video instead...
